Random Art Projects
Random Art Projects was an electro-psychedelic trip hop band comprised of five artists from Northwest Indiana. The band was fronted by rapper, Id Obelus who often recycled and rearranged his previously recorded raps to fit the electronic compositions of the rest of the band; Matt Milo, Nathan Richie, Derek Mann, and Zac Hunter (all formerly of experimental noise band, Tramaj Voyix). Random Art Projects (or R.A.P) was born in the summer of 2008 and officially died this past fall of 2009. They performed all over Indiana throughout that time. Their shows were original projects with a fusion of multiple genres, moods and subject matter. Their set up of multiple effects pedals, synthesizers, random noise makers, and the intricate cob web of wires was many a confused sound man’s nightmare. But, the thought-provoking lyrics and groovy experimental rhythms kept fans coming back for more. R.A.P. released one album, “Ignore Ignorance” which is now out of print.
